STM Welcomes New Principal

St. Thomas More is pleased to share an important update in the life of our school: Mark Nagle has been appointed the next principal of St. Thomas More High School, effective July 1.

This announcement follows a focused and thoughtful search process, conducted in close collaboration with the Archdiocese, and guided by our shared commitment to strong, stable academic leadership as we look ahead to the 2025–26 school year.

Mark brings nearly two decades of experience in Catholic, urban, and rural schools, with a deep and diverse background as an educator, counselor, coach, and school leader. He began his career as a teacher at Holy Family Parish School in Whitefish Bay before moving into student support and leadership roles at Dominican High School, where he served as High School Counselor and held several coaching positions.

At Markesan High School, he served as School Counseling Director, as well as Advanced Placement Coordinator, Assessment Coordinator, and Head Boys Basketball Coach, helping to shape a culture of academic excellence and student success.

Most recently, Mark has worked in the Milwaukee Public Schools, where he held a variety of leadership roles—including Assistant Principal at Golda Meir High School, one of the district’s highest-performing schools. He holds a master’s degree in Principal and Administrative Leadership from Alverno College.

Mark is also a familiar face within our STM community. His daughters, Isabelle and Leah, are current students, and he has served as an assistant basketball coach at STM for the past two years. He lives just blocks from campus, and his father, William Nagle, is a regular substitute teacher at the school.

Though his official start date is July 1, Mark will begin making periodic visits to STM over the coming weeks to meet with faculty and staff and begin planning for the year ahead. If you'd like to reach out to welcome him, he can be contacted at naglem@tmore.org.

We are grateful to everyone who has helped guide this process with care and clarity. Please join me in welcoming Mark Nagle to his new role as Principal. We are excited about the future of STM and confident that Mark’s leadership will help us continue building a strong and faith-filled path forward for our students and community.
