    St. Thomas More High School is excited to welcome back teacher and coach David Marsicek, who has rejoined the social sciences department after spending the 2025–2026 academic year teaching at QSI International School of Tirana in Albania. For more than twenty years, Marsicek has inspired students with his dedication, curiosity, and love of learning. His passion for international education and cross-cultural experiences has taken him around the globe, including a memorable chapter at Gibson Youth Academy in Ethiopia from 2006 to 2007, which continues to shape the perspectives he brings to the classroom today. The school community is looking forward to hearing Mr. Marsicek's stories, learning from his global adventures, and seeing the world through his eyes.   • St. Thomas More Announces the Passing of Long-Time Custodian Jim Mueller

    For Immediate Release 

    MILWAUKEE, AUGUST 18TH, 2026 — St. Thomas More High School is saddened to share the passing of Jim Mueller, long-time afternoon-evening custodian at the school. The school found out the news late yesterday, on the first day of school for our students. Mueller started working at STM back in the 90s and has battled major health issues throughout the years, including a heart attack years ago.

    “Jim Mueller, a fixture in the afternoon and evening hours at St. Thomas More for over three decades because of the position he held since 1991, was someone who took great pride in his employment and enjoyed his relationships with TM Staff, students, and parents,” said John Hoch, President at STM, when reflecting on Mueller’s passing. “He particularly loved attending our theatrical performances and all home sports contests. He would proudly boast after big wins that “we defended our turf.” He will be greatly missed. On behalf of the St. Thomas More community, I offer our deep condolences to his family.”

    Mueller was truly a gem of a person, inside and out. His passing hits very close to home for the STM family.
