2024 Spring Art Show

Elizabeth Munoz

My name is Elizabeth Munoz (Ely), and I am a senior at STM. My Sustained Investigation is “How would it look if themes settled down somewhere?” At the beginning of this semester, I wanted to explore more architecture because I love designing homes or towns. With my desire to design towns, I wanted to add a more creative touch which led me to put themes in each town. These themes range from simple sports, like soccer or tennis, to deeper ideas such as my memories. I created a space that played with perspective in each town. I chose symbols to match the overall theme of the town.

After I came up with the ideas and mapped them out, I had to decided which media helped convey the message. My main medium for most of the artworks is pen since I personally like buildings made with ink. But, if an artwork was to send a specific message, I adjusted to match it by laying out detailed clues and using color to show more specific meaning. In each of my artworks, I want to show others the way I perceived themes, and I accomplished that by showing my creative side.
