Student Testimonials

It is one thing for the faculty, staff and school adminstrators to tell you how great Saint Thomas More High School is.  We can all tell you about how wonderful the education is here, how our school prepares our students for success beyond high school, and how our warm, loving, and safe atmosphere provides them a nurturing enviornment which will enable them to grow to their full potential.

We can say all of these things, but we felt it would be more impactful if you heard this from our students.  Our students are fully aware of all the benefits of a Saint Thomas More High School education, and they are very grateful to be where they are.  Their messages have more impact and more meaning than any of us could ever hope to acheive.

If you are considering Saint Thomas More High School for your son or daughter, you are to be commended.  Your child will love our school, just as the following four students do.  Here are their messages to you:

I knew that I wanted to come to Saint Thomas More High School when I was in the 8th grade.  It seemed like a school I would fit in very well at.  The thing that I like most about STM is the size of the school.  It is big enough where there are a variety of people but small enough where everybody knows your name.  I also really like how the teachers will take extra time for you if you need help.  The attention they give us really makes a difference.

I am very involved here at STM.  I participate in soccer, volleyball, Big Buddies, the Ambassador program, I’m a manager for the basketball team, and I also am a student Phonathon caller.  Not only am I heavily involved here, but the fact that I’m exposed to religious education also makes this school such a great fit for me.  Faith is an important aspect of my life, and it is something that I would not get at a public school.

Finally, I feel that the courses at STM will prepare me for college, especially the honors classes.  I am in honors geometry and biology, and these classes are very challenging.  I also think my Spanish courses will prepare me for college.  Basically, I will be ready for the next step because of the education I have received at Saint Thomas More High School.

It took me a while to finally choose Saint Thomas More High School as the right school for me.  I was really set on going to my local public school, but at the start of 8th grade I shadowed my cousin and it really changed my views about high school.  That visit alone made me realize STM was the right high school for me.  I have not regretted that decision for a single day since.

I like the family atmosphere present at STM and the fact that everyone is so close.  Some people may not like that, but I really value the fact that everyone knows each other.  There is really something special about a small high school.  The intimate setting makes it easier to get to know people and get involved.  As for myself, I am involved in softball, student council, Big Buddies, S.A.D.D., Key Club, stage crew, the Ambassador program, and the Phonathon.  Plus, many of my friends are involved in the same programs as me, which makes it extra special!

The whole aspect of spirituality is something unique to Saint Thomas More High School.  Campus Ministry brings everyone closer as friends and to God.  Aside from the religious aspect, the academics are very challenging here.  The courses at STM will definitely prepare me for college.  The classes are demanding, but also a lot of fun!  Choosing STM as the high school for me has really helped prepare me for my future.

I was only in the 7th grade when I knew that I wanted to attend Saint Thomas More High School.  I decided this after STM student ambassadors visited my grade school.  I was impressed with what they had to say, so I thought I would check the school out.  I was pleased to discover that the school was even better than they said it would be!

Some of the things I like most about STM are that we have small classes with individual attention.  Also, our teachers really care about us.  If we ever have a problem, they are more than happy to help.  It is really like a nice little family.

At school I’m involved in basketball, Phonathon, and Student Council.  Some of the things that I get from my STM experience that I wouldn’t get at a public school are smaller class sizes and the presence of faith and God.  Those are two very important things for me, and I am so glad that I get those on a daily basis.

Finally, the classes here at Saint Thomas More High School are challenging and will prepare me for wherever I decide to go to college.  Because of my enrollment in several honors courses, I feel especially prepared for my future endeavors.  I know that I will be successful in life after high school.

I knew that I wanted to come to Saint Thomas More High School when I was in the 7th grade.  They came to my grade school and I decided that STM was the school for me.  Also, my dad is an alumnus, and he was pretty influential in my decision to come here, as well.  It has been a great decision, and I am very grateful for the support of my family.

What I like most about STM is the small class sizes.  You are not a number here, but rather a name.  Also, the teachers know who you are, and they take an active interest in you as a person.  I have formed some very strong relationships with my teachers over the years.  I am really fond of the closeness of everyone at the school.  I have no enemies, only friends, and that is something really special about this place.

At STM I feel that I am getting a better education because the class sizes are smaller, and that we are able to talk freely about issues without having to worry about religious boundaries.  Being able to discuss religion and embrace that as a group is really a great thing this school offers.  We are able to establish a closer and stronger bond with God through retreats and our in-school masses.

I feel like the courses here will prepare me for college and beyond.  The classes, in particular the honors classes, challenge you to do your best.  At the end of your junior year you have the chance to take the AP test, and if you pass it you can earn college credits.  This helps prepare you for college and will enable you to get a head start in your education.
